Wet Paint was formed in March 1996 as a duo Phill Morley; guitar and vocals and Richard Lee; 5-string banjo. The name came up as a joke, when Phill saw a notice saying “WET PAINT” as he and Richard were entering a concert. Phill said “funny I didn’t know they were playing tonight!”, so that night he and Richard used it as a name for their own duo. Over the years the duo grew with a bass and a drip appeared. Just recently another member joined on mandolin and another drip appeared. On their performances, the audience have to guess who are the drips…..

Wet Paint & The Drips have decided to drop the Drips and just go under the name Wet Paint.  They are also now using individual microphones on their concerts as they felt the single microphone was fun but their fans couldn’t hear all the instruments and harmonies so well. Phill decided that their fans come first and of course the music, so they have got some AKG C1000 microphones for the instruments and some AKG’s for vocals. Phill is using the AKG C300 for the harmonies. They are working up to getting a new CD out with some great stuff on it. Watch this site more news.
